We live in a world of tension. We all live IN that tension. Today we explore those realities. We name them. And, as ones who have received the LIGHT, and believe in the LIGHT we rejoice that Into those spaces and places Jesus shines. As we walk in the LIGHT we declare that the darkness cannot overcome it! As followers of Jesus who is the LIGHT of the world, it is our intention to spread light in that tension.

There are people in our neighborhoods who are outside the family of faith. They have not embraced GRACE. The idea is of God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense is either a foreign one or one that they are not yet prepared to receive. Paul in this letter to an ancient church gives us some practical and powerful encouragement. Following these directives will give you the best shot to distribute #GRACEinyourhood.

Home is where the heart is. Sometimes. And, sometimes home is where the heart is...broken. Some of the deepest hurts and losses can happen in our homes. New grace is one of the 12 building blocks of a home that is springing with life. No better place to begin this 5-week journey discovering new grace than at home. New grace is the result of Jesus’ life and work. Period. And, as recipients of that grace, we are free to share it. 

Focus: New Physical Health is one of the 12 building blocks of a home that is springing with life. This Temple of the Holy Spirit is healthiest when it gets the right nutrition. We might decide our work, or what we really like is more important. But, God is our comforter, our source of blessings and enjoyment. We get to take care of our bodies as the Temple of the Holy Spirit. We get to taste the blessing of food when we eat. And we can enjoy the results of proper nutrition free from the need to seek comfort.

We might decide our work, or that Netflix show, is more important. But, God is our provider, and our source of peace and rest. We get to take care of our bodies as the Temple of the Holy Spirit. We get to rest in the blessing of recuperation when we sleep. And we can enjoy clearness of thought free from the worry of needing to provide for ourselves.

New Physical Health is the result of honoring God’s design and His blessings (including limits) with our bodies. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. We should treat them with the care and concern we would treat His House. We give God glory when we use our bodies in the ways He has designed, and for His purposes. Whose house is this? God’s house!

Focus: A home springing with life in Jesus moves intentionally and passionately into the lives of our friends and neighbors, incarnating the missional heartbeat of God. As we listen to God, we discern which friend the Lord might be leading us to reach by proclaiming the Good News about Jesus. We will also rely on God to show us who we can support and teach as they follow Jesus.Focus: A home springing with life in Jesus moves intentionally and passionately into the lives of our friends and neighbors, incarnating the missional heartbeat of God. Do you not see it?” As we begin a new year with all of its hopes and dreams, we begin with this simple prayer, “Lord God, quicken our awareness. Let us become adept at seeing what you are doing. This year, would you assist us in becoming familiar with your work, your provision, your presence. We know that this is the foundation of homes springing with life.
